The Captains and the Children

The Angry Maiden and The Sea Dolphin

Each Master wet with stinging spray

raced playfully, crew laughing

through the storms wild disarray.

Breath catching moments, and gasps

of exhilaration release in mighty roars

Cooks man the dingy, one child in each

protective guardians holding oars.

Too soon the storm wanes, ending it all

in calm waters bob two vessels near.

Calling to one another ropes sail out

and men slide ship to ship without fear.

The Captains and children meet on the Maiden,

at anchor, the family united for the evening meal.

A Fragile Mother, Father, and two children

a family of Pirates, hostile but genteel.
