Broken

It is broken porcelain, with super glued fracture lines

that have become stronger than the original parts.

Once utilized, but now left to sit on a shelf

with jagged reminders of imperfection,

and a price tag more costly than current market worth.

When it is remembered at all, it's taken down,

and time is spent tracing the cracks

spidering out oddly into puzzling etches

on a once uncomplicated surface.

The Genie's boredom is momentarily relieved,

during these very infrequent bouts of dusting,

and each time she hopes, and looks up,

unil she feels herself shelved once again.
