Longer than a Day

Plan with hope a life lasting longer than a day

dream and make goals it takes years to fulfill

tomorrow will come, and the years will pass

giving you a chance of happiness that's real.

just don't look back, and live in pain and anger

trapped in a sad past you can never change

take words and habits learned, and rearrange

into a new way, a new word, that frees

unless you can leave it behind you, and escape

it will trap you in hate thick memories.
